Since 2022, our community members have led story walks sharing their place based stories with intimate groups in the Walla Walla Valley.

Each site-specific walk is led by a community guide whose stories have been unheard or silenced. With support and training from Queremos Escucharte’s expert Listeners, guides use tools from theater and socially engaged art to share meaningful stories from their lives, creating experiences participants can both hear and feel.

Gustavo Reyna

“This place (City Hall) is very meaningful because this is the place where the voices are heard. And where we all should feel that we belong..”

Ericka Richard

“I wanted to feel like I belonged. I wish I would’ve had someone that would've offered me resources from a young age, to be a guide for me as I was growing up in Walla Walla.”

Anyla Dior McDonald

“I was standing in my way because… I didn't want to hear my own voice. So I'm like, “How would I not want to hear my voice? But I want other people to hear my voice?”
