Amara, an interviewer with The Listeners Project: Queremos Escucharte

Amara

Language(s): English and Spanish

Amara was a YWCA youth educator at the local elementary schools and was a student at Whitman College. She is originally from Northern California and loves living in small towns where she is able to walk and bike everywhere. She listened because she believed sharing stories helped break down divisiveness and see one another’s common humanity.

Amara’s favorite things to do in Walla Walla were to watch sunsets at Bennington, groove at salsa nights at Cavu Cellars and munch tacos while sipping on local beer. In 2021 Amara hoped to learn new partner dances, work up the courage to perform a song with her “houseband” The FigWigs, and spend quality time outside with her wonderful community of friends and family.
